Job Description
END CLIENT NAME: Penta Engineering
- PENTA is seeking a motivated Mechanical Designer with 2 to 5 years of 3Ddesign-modeling experience who desires to grow in a technical and professionally diverse environment.
- Associate degree or relevant technical degree required.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills essential.
- The candidate will be responsible for developing designs in the preparation of drawings, managing the drafting function for projects assigned, supporting the department manager in maintaining the design (drawing) standards, and suggesting details to complete the drawings per standards.
- Core competencies required in planning drawing work for the mechanical team, preparation of mechanical flow diagrams and drawings to support equipment specifications.
- The successful candidate will be experienced in engineering sketches and calculations, general arrangements, and plant layouts drawings.
- Most of our work is done in Revit and is preferred, but Solidworks or Inventor + other 3D software is acceptable.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain drawing and design standards based on the Mechanical Department's current standards
- Develop the design per company standards
- Notify the PM and Leads about scope changes
- Check detail drawings and revisions to drawings.
- Develop piping layouts and piping schematics, per lead engineer's directions
- Assemble available information as required for drawing production, including GA and equipment drawings, coordinating with structural engineers and mechanical designers where differences occur. Be the engineers' first "detail" checker. Review details for completeness and accuracy.
- Oversee filing of production drawings
- Develop issue folder for issuing drawings
- Make records of meetings and phone conversations
- Review drawings of other disciplines for mechanical requirements and interface
