Job Description

**Job Title: Fixed Wing (DHC-8) Instructor Pilot**
**Reports to: Chief Pilot/Training Manager**

**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Fixed Wing (DHC-8) Instructor Pilot to join our team. As a key member of our training department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to our pilots, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to operate the DHC-8 aircraft safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aviation, excellent instructional skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Provide ground school and flight instruction to pilots on the DHC-8 aircraft, including initial, recurrent, and upgrade training
* Develop and deliver training programs, including lesson plans, syllabi, and other instructional materials
* Conduct flight evaluations, proficiency checks, and line checks to ensure pilots meet company standards and regulatory requirements
* Provide feedback and coaching to pilots to improve their performance and address areas of concern
* Stay current with regulatory requirements, aircraft systems, and company procedures to ensure training programs are relevant and effective
* Collaborate with other instructors and training staff to ensure consistency and standardization of training programs
* Participate in training program development, including the creation of training materials, scenarios, and exercises
* Maintain accurate and detailed records of training activities, including student progress and evaluation results
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism
**Requirements:**
* Valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with a minimum of 1,000 hours of flight experience, including 500 hours of instructor time
* Type rating for the DHC-8 aircraft
* Minimum of 2 years of experience as a flight instructor, preferably in a commercial airline or training environment
* Excellent knowledge of the DHC-8 aircraft systems, operations, and procedures
* Strong instructional skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a focus on collaboration and mutual support
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and other software applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Education, or a related field
* Experience with simulator-based training and evaluation
* Familiarity with regulatory requirements, including those related to pilot training and certification
* Experience with adult learning theory and instructional design principles
* Certification as a flight instructor, such as a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) or a Type Rating Instructor (TRI)
**Working Conditions:**
* The Instructor Pilot will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with varying schedules and deadlines
* The position requires flexibility, with the ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
